On January 8, 2024, the University of Michigan won the National Championship against the Washington Huskies. The National Championship game was played in Houston, Texas in front of a crowd of 72,808 people. The last championship they won was in 1997. This was huge for them and everyone worked very hard to achieve this goal, especially since the team went 15-0. The University of Michigan also became the first college football program to win 1,000 games. Not only did the team work hard towards their achievement, but there were some challenges along the way. Harbaugh was suspended at the beginning and the end of the regular season. This meant that some of the assistant coaches had to step up and fill his role by coaching the team until he returned. The players also had to adjust to the different types of coaching styles during Coach Harbaugh’s suspension. A lot of people attended the regular season home games, since they have one of the largest stadiums in the world. The Big House, as Michigan’s stadium is referred to, seats approximately 110,000 people. There are some Michigan players that will get drafted in the 2024 NFL draft. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan’s football coach, decided to go and coach the Los Angeles Chargers. So, who knows, maybe some Michigan players will be drafted to the Chargers considering that the NFL draft will take place from April 25th to the 27th.
