Don’t Over-“Work” Yourself.
Tests are one of the most important aspects of school, whether subject-related tests, or a nationwide test such as the SAT, PSAT, and the ACT. Logically, most people will get stressed out when the test day draws near. However, there are tips that can help you and save you a lot of stress.
Most of these tips below are highly suggested for tips like the SAT/PSAT, but some of those can be helpful for other tests.
The day before the test:
-Make sure you review your material so that you know what will be on the test.
-When reviewing, don’t cram it all in one piece. Take breaks in between study sessions.
-Go to sleep earlier than usual so that you are well rested.
The day of the test:
-Eat a good breakfast so that you aren’t hungry
-Make sure you pack a snack or two so you can eat something when you are on your break.
-Take your time on the test. Don’t stress about the time limit, if there is one.
-Keep yourself confident. Even though you feel like you will do bad on a particular part of the test, you can always try to find out what you did wrong when you get your results back.
During the test, pay attention to the questions to watch for keywords (not, at least, except, etc.). Make sure you check your work, and check for missing questions after you finish the test.
I hope these tips will help you in future tests.
