Did You Know…the Yosemite National Park was established October 1st, 1890? This park is in California and the climate is very warm there. It’s best known for its waterfalls, meadows, valleys, and wilderness. There’s much more to explore and many people go there to explore.
Did You Know…October 16th is National Fossil Day? This day supports fossils of ancient life and displays the important discoveries from paleontologists. 2024 is the 15th anniversary of this celebration and there are many activities that people can participate in. Some events are at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.
Did You Know…October 27th is Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday? Theodore was the 26th president and he’s also on Mount Rushmore, a national monument in South Dakota. He was born in New York in 1858 and he was in office from 1901-1909.
Did You Know…Daylight saving time is November 3rd? In the fall, daylight saving time ends and the clock can be set to standard time. Daylight saving time ends at 2 am in the United States, which means that the clocks should be set back to 1 am. This causes us to gain an hour of sleep.
Did You Know…November 11th is Armistice Day? This day celebrates the end of World War 1. Armistice Day observes common rituals and memorials. People who participate in events during this day usually display red poppies because of the poem called “In Flanders Fields”.

Roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and many more foods are also popular on Thanksgiving. The NFL football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions, play on Thanksgiving every year.
Did You Know…November’s birth flower is a chrysanthemum? The shortened term is known as a mum. They can be a variety of different colors including purple, pink, white, yellow, orange, and red. They’re associated with fall, but mums need full sun in order to grow fully to a width and height of 3 feet tall.
