Are you ready to plan your 2026 summer vacation? It’s not too early. There are plenty of cities to visit to experience warm weather and fun activities. In no specific order, these are the top 5 American cities that are becoming popular vacation spots.
- New York City, New York – A city known for the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, and Central Park. There are a lot of things to do in New York such as exploring Times Square, going to the famous museums, and going to events at Madison Square Garden. Statistically, over 60 million people visit annually.
- Gatlinburg, Tennessee – I have been to Gatlinburg and there are a lot of activities for families. There is cave exploring, Ripley’s Aquarium, Anakeesta, and tons of restaurants to try new food. Personally, I’ve been there two times and I really enjoyed it. They’re also known for their fluffy buttermilk pancakes.
- Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin – I have also been to Wisconsin Dells and it was a lot of fun. It’s represented as the “Water Capital of the World”. The amusement park, the caves, and Devil’s Lake are well known places to visit there. There are also a variety of resorts to stay at including the Wilderness, the Kalahari, and the Great Wolf Lodge.
- San Francisco, California – This city is recognized by the Golden Gate Bridge, and it’s the fourth largest city in California. People tend to go there because of the beaches and city attractions. A historical location there is Alcatraz Island, which was once a military prison. People who like to study justice and crime usually find interest in the history behind the tours that are offered.
- Seattle, Washington – Throughout the years, many people have claimed Seattle to be an exciting destination. Seattle has a lot to offer with the Space Needle, the Pike Place Market, and more. At the Space Needle, you can get a high up view of the city, and the Pike Place Market has the original Starbucks. In addition, the Museum of Pop Culture includes a variety of art, music, and films. This is great for people who want to learn more about the history of pop culture.
