On Friday, November 3rd, Tinley Park High School hosted the annual International Fest put on by the Seekers Club. This is an incredible experience unlike any other here at TPHS. There were roughly 500 people in attendance from not only TPHS but other district schools. The evening started with an array of food from several different countries that attendees could sample. After the food, everyone headed to the gym for performances put on by students. These performances included poetry reading, dancing, and singing presentations of the different diverse cultures. There were over 17 different countries represented that evening. The host Mrs. Baftiri has been putting on this festival since 2005 and deserves our thanks for the wonderful host she has been for all these years.
Mrs. Baftiri commented, “There are families from different cultures that come together and meet each other and celebrate each other’s heritage. There are also performers from other schools who come to the event, so it is really a night of unity for not only our school, but for our district.”
If you were unable to attend this year, make an effort to enjoy the festivities next year. It will be well worth it!
