Favorite Activity/Activities: In school, all the activities I’m a part of are such important parts of my life; Speech, Seekers Diversity, Pep Club, NHS, and Class Leadership, as well as being a part of our school’s Track team. Outside school, though I enjoy scrapbooking, being in nature, and content creation, and I am a self-proclaimed foodie
Favorite Childhood Memory: My favorite childhood memory is dancing battling a girl at a family party and having a huge crowd hype us up. As well as writing my version of a book I liked at the time. Maybe one day “Agent Jade” will make its world debut.
What extracurricular activities have you been a part of? How many years have you participated in this/these activities?: I’ve done Speech for about seven years so middle school all four years of high school, Pep Club for four years, Seekers for three years, and Track for three years.
Favorite School Memory (High School or Other): This is a hard question I’ve been blessed enough to have so many wonderful memories to choose from. Any event involving music (Basketball games, Football games, The Black History Month Expo and assembly, etc.) stands out. I just love when as a school and classmates we’re able to enjoy and celebrate ourselves.
The class and teacher you enjoyed the most: I’ve enjoyed most of my classes and teachers but the ones that stand out to me right now are BPA with Mrs. Munoz and Comms Arts Tech a Bremen travel class with Mr. Lynch.
After High School Plans: As the door of my High school years is coming to a close, I’m extremely excited for the door of my future to open as I plan on attending a college/university as a major in Marketing/Public Relations. Stay tuned to find out where!
My goal(s) for 10 years from now: As the door of my High school years is coming to a close, I’m extremely excited for the door of my future to open as I plan on attending a college/university as a major in Marketing/Public Relations. Stay tuned to find out where!
The person or people I admire the most: I admire my mom so much! She’s overcome more than I know and such a great example of faith and strength. She’s caring and hard working and although we drive each other crazy sometimes I couldn’t ask for a better mom. She never let anything keep her from moving forward and she’ll forever inspire me. I also admire all of my friends and family they’ve taught me lessons and inspire more than they know. I also owe my one and only sister a a major shoutout for believing me and her own personal growth.
Advice you would give to underclassmen: 1. Ask for questions. If you never ask you’ll never know. This goes for academics and for fun things. I got to do a lot of fun things because I was trusted and simply asked! 2. Your opinion of yourself is what matters most, don’t loose yourself trying to keep up with people who really don’t have your best interest at heart. 3. You’re not gonna have fun if you’re not making it, so at these school events have good energy and you’ll have a good time! 4. Work smart not hard, half the stuff that seems really big, isn’t as bad when you get started. Grades matter, but at the end of the day they wont kill you. 5. Be kind and if you don’t like someone, stay away from them there’s no need for drama. 6.CHECK YOUR EMAIL 7. Join clubs. I recommend: Speech (give it a chance, it’s a needed skill and actually fun once you understand it), Seekers Diversity is beautiful and displays the schools unity and diversity passionately, Track has taught me not only physical but mental strength and the team is like no other, I love them all!
Additional Thoughts: Don’t let the school spirit die! The Class of 24′ got it bubbling again and its time for more! Show up for everything when you can, talk to your teachers and get to know staff, be open to new things. Stay present, its too easy to get caught up and have things pass you by. Lastly! you’re more strong than you think, you got this!!!!
